Re:
Resolution expressing concerns related to proposed
boundaries for the Marin Baylands Wildlife Refuge. Consent item #7
Dear Mayor Boro & Council members:
On behalf of many property owners, I am expressing
appreciation for the concerns you have raised regarding the process by which
the Marin Baylands Mapping Boundary study has been handled. Many of the property owners are also pleased
that you recognize in your words that “it certainly will add further
controversy and affect public perception regarding development….”
The resolution you have on your consent calendar for Monday
May 7th lists many concerns that many property owners have. However, your Resolution seems to specify
St. Vincent’ s and Silveira as your primary concern. Many other property owners have similar (and additional) concerns
as outlined in your “Whereas..” section.
Therefore, this consent item, which a few of us became aware of only
late this afternoon, raises several questions for the other Refuge impacted
property owners. These questions
include:
1)
Could you add wording to your resolution specifying
that the concerns you express in this resolution apply for all the other Refuge
impacted property owners?
2)
If adding additional verbiage expressing the
concerns of all the other property owners is not possible, should another
publicly noticed meeting be held at which the concerns of the other property
owners can be heard?
Please excuse the lateness of this letter, some of us only
became aware of this consent item at 4:00 pm Friday, May 4th.
Sincerely,
Dwayne Hunn
