What Readers Say

Skylark heaven

How do you thank a person or organization for giving you back the will to live — for giving you back your life?

Dwayne Hunn of Novato Ecumenical Housing, Kelly Robertson of First California Mortgage and Kathy Ashfour and Susan McCandless of Home and Land Realty did that.

Approximately six years ago my husband and 1 divorced after 17 years of marriage. I did everything I could to keep my two children's’ environment the same. I wanted them to stay in the same school mid keep their same friends.

The divorce forced me to sell our home in Lucas Valley and to pay

an exorbitant rent to live in Pacheco Valley. I kept struggling to make ends meet, saying to myself that if I could only make it three more years both of my children would be out of high school.

Finally, I called NEH. They were so nice and cooperative and encouraging. I found that with the equity in my pension fund I could, incredibly, afford to buy instead of rent!

While negotiations to buy were going on I found I needed surgery and would be off work approximately seven weeks. I can’t thank these people enough for putting every effort into getting me into my home before I had to go into surgery. I had the most beautiful place in the world to recover in

heaven ... my home.

I thank God my surgery was successful, my son is doing well in college and my daughter has decided to return to college.

Since the day I signed the papers to purchase my new home, although it sounds strange, my whole life has changed.

I have wonderful new friends at. Skylark Meadows, more self-confidence in myself, and a glow shows in my face.

I know God had a hand in making all these things happen and in bringing all the generous caring people together who make it happen.
