For most families, housing costs are usually the largest line item cost in their budget.  Marin's housing costs are among the most expensive in the nation.  Consequently, housing costs have a huge upfront and hidden impact on Marin's economy.  Without addressing its $650,000 median home prices, Marin will soon find its quality of life emulating the increasingly deteriorated quality of transportation and commuting it has come to suffer through over the last decade.

Teachers living in their working community aren't important to today and tomorrow's quality of life, are they?
